Utility Multi Tool – Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026

Utility Multi Tool is a Chrome extension that adds a toolbar to the edge of the screen with everyday tools, such as a time tracker and a stopwatch. This policy explains what data the extension handles and where it goes.

The short version

Data the extension stores

Projects, tasks, time sessions, notes, optional hourly rates, stopwatch data, templates and your settings. All of it is stored in the extension's local storage in your Chrome profile (chrome.storage.local). Some settings (not your time data) may be stored in Chrome sync storage so they follow your Chrome profile to other computers. This sync is handled by Google Chrome under your Google account, not by us.

Web pages you visit

The extension shows its toolbar on web pages. It does not read, collect or transmit the content of those pages or your browsing history. It only uses a page's address locally, to honor your choice to hide the toolbar on specific sites.

Optional backups

Google API Services

Utility Multi Tool's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data received from Google Drive is used only to save and restore your own backups. It is not used for advertising, is not transferred to anyone, and is not read by humans.

Permissions and why they are needed

Deleting your data

You can delete your data at any time from the extension's settings. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes all data stored in the browser. Backup files you created in your folder or Google Drive remain yours, and you can delete them there.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
